Part II — Sprouting
03 · Installing on the internal disk: from the pot to the ground
The seedling grows in the pot. But it is in the ground that it becomes a tree.
Why install
Running from the USB stick works, but a stick is slow and wears out with the archive's coming and going. For a mucua that will stay, its place is the disk inside the computer. The image already brings an installer: boot from the stick, choose the disk, and it copies itself there.
The chosen disk is completely erased. Everything that was on it — Windows, photos, another system — disappears. Copy what matters first.
Step by step
1. Boot the computer from the stick (chapter 01) and, in the menu, go down to the last option, Instalar o Baobaxia no disco interno (apaga o disco) (install Baobaxia on the internal disk — erases the disk):

2. After a minute, the installer shows the computer's disks (Discos) — the stick itself is not on the list. Each disk comes with its size and type (sata, nvme, usb…). Type the disk's number and press Enter (just Enter gives up, without touching anything):

3. It shows again which disk will be erased and asks you to type SIM (Portuguese for "yes", in capitals). Any other answer gives up:

4. Copying takes a few minutes; the bottom line shows the progress:

5. At the end, Pronto! TIRE O PENDRIVE appears (Done! REMOVE THE USB STICK). Remove the stick and press Enter: the machine switches off.

6. Switch on again, now without the stick. The disk does its own first boot (chapter 02): it installs Baobáxia, gets its own identity and writes the admin password into baobaxia-credenciais.txt, on the disk's BAOBAXIA partition.
The disk is born the right size already, and its boot menu keeps the network options — only the install one goes away.
One stick, many mucuas
The same stick installs as many machines as you like, each one a different mucua. For a whole room of computers, you can answer nothing: in the menu, with the install option highlighted, press e and add at the end of the line that starts with linux:
baobaxia.instalar.disco=/dev/sda baobaxia.instalar.sim
Then press Ctrl+X. It installs on sda without asking and switches off by itself. Be doubly careful: check that the internal disk really is sda on those machines.
What if the stick has already been used as a mucua?
If the stick has already been started the normal way and became a mucua (with accounts, knowledge, chat), the installer asks what to do with that:

- 1 — uma mucua NOVA (a NEW mucua; recommended, and what you get by just pressing Enter): the disk receives the system without Baobáxia installed and without the stick's knowledge, accounts and chat. On the first boot, it installs everything from scratch and gets its own identity. The stick goes on being its own mucua.
- 2 — ESTA mucua, inteira (mover) (THIS whole mucua — move): the disk takes the whole mucua from the stick — the same identity, the same content, the same keys. It is for moving a mucua that is already in use from the stick to the disk. Afterwards, don't use both as mucuas at the same time: for the other mucuas, they would be two copies of the same one, disagreeing.
Writing straight to the disk, without the installer
You can also write the image straight to the internal disk, as in chapter 01: taking the disk out and plugging it into a USB adapter on another computer, or booting the computer from a stick with another "live" Linux and writing from there. The result is the same — the installer just saves you that work.
